Too many entrepreneurs I meet are successful by external measures — but exhausted on the inside. They’ve achieved the metrics but lost themselves in the process.
The Goodness Journey is a framework I use with coaching clients to help them move from a life of striving to a world of thriving.
The 5 R’s
The framework has five R’s: four core steps you’ll cycle through repeatedly, plus a fifth for when you need help getting started.
1. Reasons
Why are you on this path? Not the surface-level answers, but the deep motivations that actually drive you. What excites you about your goals? What will be different when you achieve them? Who will be impacted?
2. Reality
Where are you right now, honestly? What do you want? What don’t you want? What resources do you have? What’s missing? You can’t chart a course without knowing your starting point.
3. Roadmap
With your reasons and reality defined, you can create a system to move forward. Not just goals, but habits. Not just destinations, but sustainable practices. This is where the P.E.A.C.E. framework comes in: Purpose, Energy, Appreciation, Confidence, Engagement.
4. Rhythm
The Roadmap becomes real when you find a sustainable rhythm, a cadence that keeps you engaged without burning out. This includes using the N.S.E.W. compass to filter every goal through your Non-negotiables, Sustainable growth, Essence, and Well-being.
And When You’re Stuck: Rescue
Sometimes you can’t even get started. Whether it’s your first time on the journey or your fifth cycle around, you may find yourself immobilized before you can identify your Reasons. The 5th R — Rescue — is permission to ask for help. A coach, a mentor, or a trusted advisor who can see what you can’t and help you begin (or restart) the journey.
Cyclical, Not Linear
The beautiful thing about this process is that it’s cyclical. You don’t finish once and move on. Each time through, you go deeper. Your reasons become clearer. Your reality sharpens. Your roadmap gets more refined.
This is the journey explored in Goodness over Greatness, and it’s one I’d be honored to walk with you.
